Honey Bee (voiced by Regina Carroll 1971-1990 and Merlee Shapiro 1991-present and portrayed by Kym Whitley) is one of Black Dynamite's sidekicks. Honey Bee is a part of Black Dynamite's team that assist him in dangerous situations.

Physical Appearance[]

Honey Bee is voluptuous and average in height (Almost close to Black Dynamite's), She has dark brown hair and light brown skin. Her outfit consists of a long sleeved shirt with a low neckline that reaches till the middle of her chest, exposing her half of her chest, with orange accents on her waistband and sleeve cuffs, along with dark brown flared trousers. Honey Bee also dons golden hoop earrings and a yellow headband that holds her afro.

Personality[]

Like Black Dynamite, Honey Bee is brave. She is also respectful, hopeful, and sees a brighter future. Although Honey Bee is kind, she can also be quite dangerous. She is fiercely protective of the kids at the Whorephanage and will protect them to the end. She also cares deeply about her friends and the whores at the whorephanage.

History[]

In the first episode, "Just Beat It or Jackson Five Across Your Eyes", she and the rest of the crew attacked a ninja base by bombing it. However, because of the absence of Cream Corn, she and the rest of the team were unable to escape; they had to fight off the waves of ninjas who surrounded them, while Cream Corn saved Michael Jackson from a so-called assassination. After the fight, the team visited Cream Corn at the hospital after he dove in front of Michael Jackson, taking the bullet fired by Michael Jackson's dad, Joseph Jackson. She, Bullhorn, and Cream Corn took a great liking to Michael Jackson. Later, after discovering Cream Corn was the subject of physical abuse by Michael Jackson and that Michael Jackson was an alien trying to take over the world, Black Dynamite's crew lead the ninjas they fought earlier into battle against Michael Jackson's alien race.

In the next episode, "Bullhorn Nights or Murder She Throats", Honey Bee is also seen at the place where Bullhorn's cousin, Ringo Mandingo, was chopped to pieces by a chainsaw. She then help fight off the Klan and the Pumas.

Relationships[]

Black Dynamite[]

Black Dynamite trusts her enough to the point where She's in charge of the whores at the whorephanage (And in regular basis, help raise the orphans), Their relationship is semi-tenacious since Black Dynamite doesn't seem to form romantic bonds with Honey Bee (Unless it's sexual, which rarely ever happens) making their relationship seem platonic at best

Bob Marley[]

In "How Honeybee Got Her Groove Back/Night of the Living Dickheads", She met the singer Bob Marley, at first they started out romantically but then began to be sexually interested with each other, their relationship began to crumble when he introduced her to his family and his polyamorous lifestyle, She was willing to give him a chance until he bought another girl, this led to her leaving him.

Cream Corn[]

Cream Corn and Honey Bee's relationship is antagonistic at best, She would often make fun of him to the point where he'd angirly reply to her, though they do makeup to each other kindly.

Bullhorn[]

Although they both barely ever interact much between the two, Bullhorn does show respect for Honey Bee, while She acknowledges his talents.

The Prostitutes of the Whorephanage[]

Honey Bee controls the whores of the Whorephanage with precision, giving them commands on what to do. In "How Honeybee Got Her Groove Back/Night of the Living Dickheads" they treat her as a friend and encourage her to let loose on things.

The Orphans[]

As much as She's protective and motherly over the Orphans, most of them seem to lack respect or discipline for Honey Bee in general, revealed in the last episode the reason as to why it is because She can't lay a hand on them just to set them straight, to put it in loosely "She lacks balls".

Trivia[]

  • Honey Bee's color palette, motherly behavior towards the orphans along with her leadership of the whores is akin to that of Queen Bees, Queen Bees are typically adult, mated female (gyne) that live in a colony or hive of honey bees. With fully developed reproductive organs, the queen is usually the mother of most, if not all, of the bees in the beehive.[1]
    • The Queen bee motif is referenced in "Honky Kong", when Black Dynamite admits that the Whorephanage (Which he refers to as a "Beehive" wants their "Queen Bee" back.
  • She resembles the old era of African Americans and the new fighting styles, such as martial arts. Her style, like that of the rest of the show's characters, is a direct reference to the Blaxploitation-era style of media, which was especially popular during the 1970s.
